Just found this little gem, I have used the Linux version of almost the same thing. I will change my steam back to the beta version to see if that fixes this problem, but I noticed that I am not the only one that has this issue. That should set your pad up properly for gamepad settings. In templates, find the standard joypad controller configuration and select it. There you will have a menu of templates and community submitted layouts. This is normal as the virtual xinput is designed to kick in when it detects the actual game engine.Īnother small thing, just before you hit play in BPM, enter the controller configuration menu and check the bindings and layout are for a joypad, if they aren't hit the browse configuration button. Also when I run an emulator dolphin for example my steam controller sometimes behaves like a mouse until I boot a rom up. Make sure both your link and steam clients are opted into the beta. Couple of things that might help at this point.

For games which don't support controllers you can use templates and other controller mappings from the 'configure controller' in big picture, as mentioned above. With emulators I have found it easiest to connect my controller to my pc first, set up the control bindings, then switch it to the link. To get the controller to work with emulators the easiest way is to add the emulator as a 'non steam game' then launch it from big picture mode.

I do know that the ps4 controller is fully supported when it comes to button maps etc similar to steam controller. I want to use my Bluetooth Xbox One controller and PS4 controller while using emulators and other programs as well, but this isn't possible because the Steam Link tries to mimic a mouse instead of just staying as a controller.Īnyway to turn off this mouse feature? I also noticed it disables the controller as well in games that do not support controller so I can't use programs like controller companion or xpadder while playing those games.
